While so many Bollywood stars have transformed their physique for their survival in the entertainment industry, Bipasha has taken it to the next level by not only using good health for her own benefit, but also motivating the fellow Indians to get back into their desired fitness levels. According to her Bollywood is very pressurizing industries, the idea of competing with fellow actors can make anyone feel insecure to an extent that anyone can easily get lost under insecurity. Bipasha thinks it’s important to find the peace of mind that can only happen when you “love yourself”.
It was only six years ago that Bipasha realised that while she was doing well as an actor but due to work load she was not giving enough time to herself. Life was just like any other actor going to work, coming back from work, sleeping and eating anything available at work. Her health was on a downhill until she decided not to go by the same notion anymore, she started giving one hour of her busy schedule to herself by getting into some sort of fitness programme to improve her health and get the contentment in life she was looking for. She has been training from last 6 years and has undergone every possible kind of training. Her first ever treadmill was gifted by her ex-boyfriend John Abraham to at least start exercising at home because she used to be those kind of people who don’t want to go to the gym. After that there was no looking back, she did lots of research on fitness, underwent yoga, pilate, strength training, cardio training, spinning and virtually tried everything related to fitness improvement. She thinks that she is not the master but she has the basic know how of being healthy. She strictly follows diet, she is very consistent, very regular for workout and pays attention towards the form of exercise to maximize the result
It’s quite evident that Bipasha’s hard work in the Gym has surely transformed her life completely. Bipasha is very passionate about her workouts and though she is a Bollywood celebrity, but unlike other celebs who want to do easy things in the Gym, she never hesitates in trying out difficult exercises. She has even launched fitness DVDs along with a renowned Bollywood trainer Deanne Pandey. Bipasha has worked very hard for her DVD, the exercise journals and research on exercise forms were all prepared by Bipasha herself. In her DVD she has targeted beginners, but she has also incorporated exercises for advanced users. The workouts are divided into three segments and each segment consists of Cardio+Strength Training+Abs Routine, she has compiled a total of 65 exercises in her “Love Yourself” DVD. Bipasha attributes the reason for DVD to her passion towards working out and being healthy without any shortcuts. She wants to change the mind-set of people who think being thin is beautiful and protect youth of country from disease like anorexia. Unlike other Bollywood stars who follow strict diet all the time, she enjoys and lives life as every human being does, on her cheat days she doesn’t mind munching the Chola Bhature, but in moderation.
Bipasha’s diet discipline
“I eat everything except red meat and rice. Lots of greens, chicken, dal, roti and vegetables form a part of my daily diet. For beautiful skin, I recommend fish, barley, nuts, seeds, sprouts, yogurt, fruits and vegetables – especially the leafy, green variety. Fish and nuts are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids that help with glowing skin.”
Bipasha’s beauty rituals
“I believe in cleansing, toning and moisturising my face before going to bed. My morning beauty regime starts with drinking four to six glasses of water and eating almonds soaked in water overnight. I never step out without a sunscreen, it’s crucial to avoid UV damage. At night, I massage almond oil around my eyes to nourish the delicate under-eye skin and keep it line- and wrinkle-free. I also avoid wearing heavy make-up when I’m not working.”
Bipasha’s guilty pleasure
“I have a major sweet tooth, but I eat sweets or desserts in small portions so I don’t feel deprived or guilty.”
Bipasha’s fitness files
“I change my fitness routine regularly and don’t stick to just one format. I include both cardio and muscle training in my routine. You need not be a gym person—a brisk walk, a run in a park, taking the stairs instead of an elevator can all help in making you fit.”
